Bentonite
Bentonite usually forms from weathering of volcanic ash, most often in the presence of water. Bentonite is an absorbent aluminium phyllosilicate clay consisting mostly of montmorillonite. The different types of bentonite are each named after the respective dominant element, such as potassium (K), sodium (Na), calcium (Ca), and aluminium (Al). For industrial purposes, two main classes of bentonite exist: sodium and calcium bentonite.
The chemical formula of Bentonite is Al2H2Na2O13Si4 (Sodium) and Al2H2O12Si4 (Calcium)

AKINNATE™ is natural clay for animal feed applications, presenting considerably improved technological performance as its binding, anti-caking and flowing agent properties improve both pellet process and conservation. AKINNATE™ is natural Non swelling Calcium based bentonite of exceptional purity. IT contains more than 70 % active montmorillonite clay content. AKINNATE™ Bentonite is widely used in the Feed Industries both in Granular and Powder Form.
Civil Engineering
Sodium Bentonite is traditionally used as a support and lubricating agent in walls, foundations, tunneling and horizontal drilling. Bentonite slurry walls are used in construction, where the slurry wall is a trench filled with a thick colloidal mixture of Bentonite and water. A trench that would collapse due to the hydraulic pressure in the surrounding soil does not collapse as the slurry balances the hydraulic pressure. Forms of concrete and rebar, can be assembled in slurry filled trench, and then have concrete poured into the form. The liquid concrete is heavier than the Bentonite slurry, and displaces it, and it can be re-used in a new trench elsewhere on the construction site.
The Important characteristics of Piling Grade Bentonite are covers large surface area, good plasticity and lubricity, low filter loss, excellent gel strength, good impermeability & low compressibility.
Cat Litter
Bentonite is used for cat litter, due to its advantage of absorbing refuse by forming clumps (which can be easily removed) leaving the remaining product intact for further use.
Drilling
Bentonite is as a mud constituent for oil- and water- well drilling. Its role is mainly to seal the borehole walls, to remove drill cuttings and to lubricate the cutting head. The special higher mud yield results in using less quantity of Bentonite for the same standard mud. This results in lesser requirement of Bentonite.
Earthing
Sodium base bentonite contains rich montmorillonite which is widely accepted for the purpose of improving ground conductance in electrical earthing. Bentonite is best suitable for Electrical Earthing. bentonite enhances the connection between earth rod and ground.
It is designed to cater requirements of Earthing Application. It can be easily used in areas with high soil resistivity, as a ground enhancement material, improves moisture retention of the soil, and this improves grounding effectiveness for Electrical Earthing.
Fertilizer
FERTILIZER GRADE BENTONITE is high performance sodium based activated bentonite which is designed to meet requirements of Fertilizer Industry. The effective ingredient of bentonite is an aluminum-hydro-silicate clay mineral (montmorillonite). Fertilizer grade bentonite contains more than 70 % active montmorillonite clay content.. bentonite is used as Sulphur Pellets Binding & Dispersing Agent for all kind of Micro nutrients as well. Fertilizer grade bentonite is designed for fast hydration & its high swelling capabilities make it most suitable for fertilizer industry. Fertilizer grade bentonite is natural high swelling sodium based bentonite of exceptional purity. Fertilizer Grade Bentonite is widely used in the Fertilizer Industries both in Granular and liquid products.
Fertilizer grade bentonite does not contain any fermentable product. Fertilizer grade bentonite is Economical & Naturally Ecological.
Foundry
Sodium Bentonite has been widely used as a foundry-sand binder in iron and steel foundries. It has high montmorillonite content and is a wet activated Bentonite suitable for greensand applications including fully automated and high-pressure systems.
It is a specially processed with necessary additives to achieve good thermal conductivity at higher temperature.
It does not contain any Fermentable Product and is Environmentally Acceptable.
IOP
Bentonite is used as green and dry ore binder for all kind of pellets. Bentonite offers superior performance as per ASTM Specifications. We selectively mined and processed high swelling sodium based bentonite suitable for iron ore pelletizing plants.
